The story of our family business

Thirty-seven years ago, YF Furniture (then Yorkshire Fibreglass) was bought by husband and wife, Mike and Elaine Scott, marking the beginning of a wonderful family-led and orientated firm. Here at YF Furniture we are truly proud to say that the business has continued to strengthen, with new family members taking the company through new successes – Elaine is Company Secretary and still very involved, and Elaine and Mike’s daughter and son-in-law, Carly and Adam, are currently Joint Managing Directors. Mike sadly passed away in 2016 and is sorely missed, though his legacy of hard work, reliability, and passion for what we do continues.

We believe it is important to maintain the sense of family and we feel blessed for having such skilled craftsmen and women work with us. Some of our employees have been with us since the beginning, and many for over 25 years! This is because we really care for our staff and we’ve worked hard to build trust. What makes us a unique team is that we listen to each other; each other’s ideas and unique perspectives. Our staff have the freedom to grow and improve their roles and we truly value this. It’s why we pride ourselves on producing such quality furniture!
